Henry Samuel Burtner, 72, 3225 S. Hackley St., husband of Ethel O. Burtner, who died Friday afternoon in Indianapolis, was fatally stricken at his home 7 p.m. Saturday.
He was born in Broadlands, Ill., and came to Muncie in 1932. For many years, he was a salesman for the Hoover Sweeper Co.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Cleo Jefferis of Indianapolis; four sons, Willard Burtner of McHenry, Ill., Kenneth, Lowell, and Harold Burtner, all of Muncie; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Burtner of Kokomo; and two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Carter of Marion and Mrs. Staggerwalt of Muncie.
Double services for Mr. and Mrs. Burtner will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Meeks Mortuary, with Rev. Gail Davis in charge. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory
