CENTRAL KENTUCKY NEWS JOURNAL OBITUARY – 01/22/1931
Samuel Robert Lee died at his home in Adair County, Friday, January 16, [1931] after a long period of declining health. He was the son of J. T. & Sarah M. Lee, and was born in Taylor County, August 12, 1869, and was 61 years, 5 months, and 4 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Nancy Henson, and to this union 13 children were born. Six of whom preceded him to the grave in infancy. He is survived by his widow and 7 children: Mrs. Henry Pike, of Illinois, Rena, Catherine, Willie, Walter, Frank & Clarence, all of Adair County. He is also survived by his mother, Sarah M. Lee and 3 brothers and 3 sisters: W.P. Lee, T.S. Lee, G.H. Lee, Mesdames J.M. Romine and Mrs. A.L. Lancaster, all of this county, and Mrs. A.P. Gaines, of Green County. He professed faith in Christ at Kellyville Church in 1927, and later joined the church at Carmel. The funeral services were conducted by Carmel Church, Saturday, January 17, at 2 o'clock, by Rev. Hulse and the interment took place in the Carmel Cemetery and was attended by a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives.
