William P. Lee, 69 years old, magistrate from the fourth district of Taylor County for more than 14 years, died at his home in the Lone Valley section last Thursday night after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Campbellsville Methodist Church by Rev. Holman Cowherd, assisted by Rev. J. L. Bradshaw and burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Mr. Lee was well known throughout this county and was prominent in community activities. He was one of the county's most progressive farmers. He made profession of faith in Christ and united with the Lone Valley Baptist Church 20 years ago. He later transferred his membership to the Soul's Chapel Methodist Church and has since remained a consistent member. Since his membership on the Fiscal Court, he has attended all sessions, and even recent declining health failed to prevent his absence. He was united in marriage many years ago to Miss Mary Coontz, who survives him. He is also survived by two daughters: Miss Clarie Lee, and Mrs. Nora Lee Farris; one son, William Lee; two brothers, George H. and Thomas S. Lee; three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Romine, Mrs. Sarah N. Gaines, and Mrs. Nettie E. Langester; and two grandchildren, Harold Lee and Lois Jean Farris. Active pallbearers were : W. W. Webster, Ira Wise, R. F. Young, George Phillips, Clyde Cox, and O. C. Spurling. Honorary pallbearers were: Fred Faulkner, Greely York, R. H. Russell, Charles Rexroat, W. F. Dudgeon, Golden Dudgeon, J. W. Davis, and Poe Young. Mr. Lee was elected to the fiscal court two years ago to fill a vacancy in the fourth district. He had previously served three other terms as magistrate. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 5 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home here for Roy W. Lee, 49, a Taylor County farmer, who died Saturday, Sept. 3, at his home in the Lone Valley section of Taylor County after a short illness. He was born in Taylor County Aug. 23, 1911, the son of Mrs. Mary Ann Coontz Lee and the late W. P. Lee, and was a member of the Lone Valley Baptist Church. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Smith Lee, whom he married on Feb. 5, 1930; one son, Harold Lee, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Crews, RR 5, and Mrs. Nora Farris, Cuthburt, Ga.; two grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rev. Phillip Kazee conducted the services, assisted by Rev. A. H. Gregory, and burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leonard Russell, Howard York, Cecil Sharp, Bob Cave, Raymond Bault, and Jack Davis.

Mabel Lee, 82, Blue Hole Road, Campbellsville, died at 10:50 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 1993, in Campbellsville after an illness. She was born Dec. 25, 1910, in Taylor County to the late George Smith and Lula Dudgeon Smith. Lee was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church and a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville with 25 years service. She was married to Roy Lee Feb. 5, 1930, who preceded her in death Sept. 30, 1960. Lee is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Betty Lee, Walton, Ky.; two granddaughters and one grandson, Lisa Franxman and Kathy Simon, both of Walton, and Ricky Lee, Parker, Colo.; two great-granddaughters, Jessica Day and Alisha Franxman, both of Walton; two sisters and four brothers, Evelyn Seay, Mildred Holmes, Robert Smith, Joe Smith, George "Dude" Smith, and Earl Smith, all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by one brother, Garnett Smith, on March 25, 1990, and one half-sister, Mary Antle. The funeral was at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Don Gowin. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
