Samuel M. Renner, 87, Ladiesburg, Maryland, died suddenly Saturday at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was born in New Midway, Maryland, a son of the late Francis C. and Hanna Harshman Renner.
He was a retired employee of the G. L. Bakery, Frederick.
Mr. Renner was a member of the Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Gertrude Starner Renner; five sons; Francis C. Renner, at home; Roland S. Renner and James D. Renner, Ladiesburg; George I Renner, Frederick and Arthur C. Renner, Gettysburg; one step-son John L. Grimes, near Gettysburg; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Mr. Renner was the last of his immediate family.
The family will receive friends at the Barton-Stauffer Funeral Home in Walkersville tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren on Tuesday at 2 p.m. His pastor, the Rev. Ralph E. Shildt, will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
