Mrs. H. S. Falkinburg

Ermina Cathryn Alberding was born November 8, 1864, in Langendorf [sic] (she was born in Langenthal), Germany, and at the age of six years came with her parents to America. They settled on a farm near Malte, Illinois, from whence they moved in 1881 to Clay County, Nebraska.

On December 10, 1884 she was married to Harry Samuel Falkinburg which was the beginning of a wedlock that lasted 58 years and 7 months.

To this union were born four children. Ralph Falkinburg of Lexington; Erma Harrison of Denver, Colorado; Helen Bernal of Los Angeles, California; and Grace Kutz of Lexington.

Mrs. Falkinburg was the grandmother of six children: Ralph Falkinburg, Jr., and Helen Falkinburg, Jack and Bob Kutz of Lexington; Edna Jo Bernal of Los Angeles; Hugh Harrison, Jr., of Vallejo, California. She was the great grandmother of Patricia and Lynn Harrison of Vallejo. Surviving her also are a sister and two brothers of Clay Center.

She passed away on July 15, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 7 days.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and all her life was affiliated with the church having been a member of the Evangelical, the Presbyterian and Methodist churches. Until the last three years she was extremely active in church work and until her death was a daily reader of the Bible.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon July 18, 1943, at the First Presbyterian church in Lexington. Rev. C. W. Shedd the pastor, and Rev. J. J. Sheaff of the Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
