Henry Lewis Alberding

Henry Lewis Alberding was born in Landale, Germany, on March 16, 1867 and passed away at his home northeast of Clay Center, Nebraska on November 11th, 1945 at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 26 days.

He came with his parents to America June 1st, 1872 and settled near Malta, DeKalb County, Illinois. In 1881 the family moved to Nebraska and located on a farm east of Clay Center. On March 19, 1896 he was united in marriage to Mathilda Fick, who preceded him in death in 1910. To this union were born three children, Esther and Elmer, who were twins, died in infancy at the age of five months.

Mr. Alberding was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Church for many years.

He is survived by his son Ralph, two granddaughters, Doris Mae and Helen Joanne; one sister, Lucy Alberding ; one brother, Lewis Alberding, all of Clay Center; one brother-in-law, H.S. Falkenberg of Lexington, Nebraska, many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.F. Lewien Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2:00 from the St. Paul Evangelical Church. The body was laid to rest in the Clay Center cemetery (sic).
