Passed away suddenly at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital. Age 54 years. He was born Nov. 11, 1897, in Bridgeport Township, and had been a lifelong Saginaw County resident. On July 1, 1922, he married Irene Visger. She survives him. For the past 30 years he had been employed at Eaton Manufacturing Co. Surviving besides his wife, are four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Melvin Davenport, Mrs. James Fawcett, Margerie, Nancy, Richard, and James Popp, all of Saginaw; Corp. Herbert Popp, in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Campbell, KY; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Gross, Mrs. William Martindale, Mrs. Carl Scherping, all of Saginaw. Time of service will be announced Thursday by the Reitz Funeral Home.
