Bridgeport, Michigan.
Passed away suddenly Thursday, September 13, 1990, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Age 52 years. He was born April 14, 1938 in Saginaw. He married JoAnn Giltrop June 8, 1957. She survives him. He was employed by Champagne & Marx Excavating Company, retiring due to disability. He served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Bridgeport Gun Club and of the Operating Engineers Local No. 324. Surviving besides his wife are one son and his wife, Joseph and Kay Popp, Bridgeport; three grandsons, Joshua, Joel and James Popp; four sisters and one brother and their spouses, Dorothy Davenport, Saginaw; Norma and Charles Kitner, New Port Richey, Fla; Herbert and Sophie Popp, Onaway; Marge and George Sanderson, Bridgeport; Nancy Dowda, Sanford, Fla.; many nieces and nephews. His mother and father, Irene and Carl Popp and a brother, Richard Popp have predeceased him.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Case Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. Fr. Daniel Novak O.F.M. will officiate with burial in Assumption B.V.M. Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy. from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and all day Sunday where they will meet at 7:00 p.m. Sunday for a prayer service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the American Heart Fund.
