Dies At 80;
Rites Set
John Andrew Barkley, 80, brother of the late Vice President Alben Barkley, died today in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion, Ill.
He was a former resident of Paducah, making his home at 307 Goodman Drive. A native of Graves County, he was the son of John W. and Electa Smith Barkley.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ima Barkley Brown and Mrs. Bernice Barkley Thieleman, both of Paducah; three nephews, George Barkley Jr., David Barkley and Buddy Denker, and three nieces, Mrs. Louise Dyson, Mrs. Max Truitt and Mrs. Douglas McArthur.
Graveside rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev. E. A. Caldwell will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Hubert Smithson, Robert Denker, Payne Dyson and Barkley Thieleman.
Friends may call at the Roth Funeral Chapel after 1 p.m. Saturday.
