SISTER OF CONGRESSMAN BARK-
LEY DIED WITHOUT WARNING.
Mrs. John ALlen, 25-years-old, of 332 North Sixteenth street, a sister of Congressman A.W. Barkley, died suddenly of heart failure about 12:15 o'clock this afternoon at the home of a friend, Mrs. Frank DuBois, 506 North Seventh street, where she had stopped a short time before with her 9 months old daughter, Louise.
Dr. O. R. Kidd, who was called immediatley, found her lifeless and pronounced death due to heart failure.
The body was removed to the home of Mrs. Allen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Barkley, 220 North Eighth street, and embalmed. No funeral arrangements have been made. Mrs. Allen shortly before noon ate lunch at home and walked to the residenve of Mrs. DuBois.
She had been at the DuBois residense less than a half hour and was talking with Mrs. DuBois, who was holding her little daughter. Mrs. Allen suddenly became faint. "Oh, Dorothy," she said to Mrs. DuBois, "I'm so sick.'' With these last words her head dropped over on her shoulder.
Mrs. Allen was formerly Miss Adah Barkley and was married to John Allen in April 1913, in this city, where she had lived for 15 years. She was born at Lowes, Graves county, and came to Paducah with the Barkley family to reside.
Besides her husband and infant daughter, she is survived by her parents and by two sisters and three brothers, who are: Mrs. Oscar Denker and Miss Bernice Barkley, of Paducah; Congressman A. W. Barkley, who is now in Washington; George Barkley, of Memphis, and John Barkley, of Paducah.
