Frances Miller, 89, of Martinsville, died at 8 am. Wednesday, April 24, 1985 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, with the Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

She was born June 4, 1895 in Anderson Township, Clark County, Ill., a daughter of William and Mary Margaret Carver Carpenter. She was married Oct. 23, 1912 to Ben Miller. He preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1984.

She was a member of the Martinsville First Baptist Church and the Helping Neighbors Club.

Surviving are four sons, Wayne of Walkerton, Ind., Dean of Orlando, Fla., Delmar of Tallahassee, Fla. and Dale of Martinsville; three daughters, Margaret Hutchings of Jamestown, Ind., Martha Smith of Walkerton, Ind. and Sylvia Watson of Indianapolis; three brothers, Carl Carpenter of Martinsville, Herman Carpenter of Veedersburg, Ind., and Harry Carpenter of West Union; a sister, Bonnie Sanders of Terre Haute. Ind.; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and four greai- great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, one infant child and two sisters.
