William Marion CARPENTER was born 24 SEP 1861, and died June 4 1924. He was the son of 2. John McNair CARPENTER and 3. Phebe Ellen GRIFFING. He married Nancy (Nannie) CRONWELL 1889. She was born 1872, and died 1890. He married Mary Margaret CARVER 1893, daughter of John CARVER and Nancy SELLERS.
William Marion, 3rd son of John and Phebia Carpenter, was born on September 24, 1861 and departed this life June 4, 1924, aged 62 years, 8 months and 10 days.

In 1889 he was united in marriage to Nannie Cornwell, and to this union one son, Ernest, was born, his mother dying when he was six days old.

On March 25, 1893, he was again united in marriage to Mary Carver. To this union 8 children were born, 4 sons and 4 daughters, one son dying in infancy; the rest of whom survive him are Herman, Carl, Harry, Frances, Grace, Clara and Bonnie, of which all are married but Carl and Harry at home. He also leaves to mourn, 13 grandchildren, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a kind husband, a loving father and a good neighbor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral services were held at Ohio Chapel, conducted by Rev. Bert Eckel with burial in the cemetery nearby.
