Albert was the eldest son and second child of Geo. Wm. Boyd and Eliza Vail Markee and married in Harrison Co., April 18, 1889, to his second cousin, Mary Elizabeth Speck ("Mollie"). They moved to Mt. Vernon, Knox County, Ohio, for a year after their marriage. Albert was a furniture dealer and undertaker at Tippecanoe from 1890 and lived in a two story log house that was built in 1814 by his mother's maternal uncles. In 1890, Albert took over the grist mill at Tippecanoe from his father, and operated it until 1900. From 1900 - 1908, it was run by H. M. Auld and then completely shut down. Albert was the father of Edith (Bonnell), Vera (Baker) and Holland (Utterback). After the death of his beloved Mollie, Albert mostly lived among his daughters, all of whom were living in New Philadelphia by that time. He died at the home of his eldest daughter, Edith Bonnell.
