William Hampton Truslow, 86, of Faber, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born June 6, 1924, on Pilot Mountain (Nelson County), he was the son of the late Everett and Minnie Carter Truslow.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Truslow was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary Betty Eddy Truslow; brothers, Dennett, John and Cloudy Truslow; sisters, Lola Bryant, Mary Scott, Lucille Flagle, Dollie Mohler and Pearl Ferguson.

Survivors include his children, Delmus "Bo" Truslow and his wife, Tina, of Faber, Minerva Faye Truslow Cox-Gutierrez and her husband, Jay, of Pritchett, Colorado, Teresa Frances Truslow Gentry and her husband, Glen, of Charlottesville, Henry Sprouse Jr. and his wife, Bridgett, of Faber and Calvin Sprouse of Pritchett, Colorado; brother, Jesse Truslow and his wife, Peggy, of Afton; sister, Barbara Shea and her husband, Robert, of Afton; grandchildren, Cody and Chase Truslow, Dan Cox, Timothy Perry and his wife, Amanda, Harley Mandey, Allen Gentry, Juanita, Daniel, William, Brandon and Cameron Sprouse; great-grandchildren, Anothony, Amanda, Adam and Alvin Bragg; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street, with Rowland Hatter "Buttons" officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the funeral home.
