ALBRO, DENNIS EDGAR "CHOPPY" - Dennis Edgar Albro, better known as "Choppy" was born in Fairmont, Neb., September 9, 1918. He passed away at an Omaha hospital, October 13, 1955, at the age of 37 years, 1 month and 4 days.
He was the son of Stephen B. and Ida E. Albro.
He was born on a farm in Madison township, later moving into Fairmont with the family. There he grew to manhood. He attended Fairmont public school and graduated from high school in 1936.
He was united in marriage to Evelyn M. Churchill of Geneva, April 26, 1942, at Junction City, Kas. To this union were born two daughters, Sharon Kay and Pamie Sue.
He united with the Geneva Congregational church in 1944. For a number of years he followed the carpenter trade. For the past year he had been in failing health and unable to work.
He was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father and a loyal friend to many.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Evelyn, his daughters Sharon and Pamie of the home; his mother, Mrs. Ida Albro of Fairmont; six brothers, Gilbert of Fairmont, Lewis of Geneva, Francis of Bremerton, Wash., Walter of Baltimore, Md., Leonard of Bremerton, Wash., and Robert, also of Bremerton; six sisters, Merle (Mrs. Harley Mitchell) of Lincoln; Gertrude (Mrs. Hubert McClellan) of Fairmont; Geniza (Mrs. Ed Ackerman) of Fairmont; Charlotte (Mrs. Federal Bridgman) of Fairmont, Margaret (Mrs. John Gibson) of Sarben, and Dorothy Albro of Lincoln. A brother, Hubert, preceded him in death in 1921 and his father passed away in 1950.
Also surviving are his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Weber of Geneva; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Churchill of Springfield' Mo., and Everett Churchill of Reynoldsburg, O.; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. George Brown of Geneva, Mrs. Eleanor Steiger of Omaha, Mrs. Gilbert Volkmer of Geneva and Mrs. Lila Philippi of Columbus; 18 nephews and 14 nieces, a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held at the Geneva Congregational church at 2 p. m. Monday, October 17. Rev. L. E. Werner officiated. A quartet composed of Leon Hutchens, Guy Brown Jr., Wallace Swanson and Richard Wagner sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Mrs. Willard Foster was accompanist. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
