Ruth George- Funeral service for Ruth Elizabeth Sparks George, 84, of 511 Amarillo were to be at 2pm today at the Town North Baptist Church. The Revs. Calvin Janssen and Emmitt Clampitt were to officiate and burial was to be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. George was born September 10, 1895 in Denton and died Saturday afternoon in Flow Memorial Hospital. She was married to the late James Henry "Jim" George on May 6, 1912 in Denton. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Cooper Creek Home Demostration Club. She was a homemaker, a foster grandparent at Denton State School, a member of the Town North Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Denton.
Survivors are two sons; Clovis T. George and James Robert "Bob" George, both of Denton; 2 daughters, Inez Boyd of Corinth and Mrs. Emmitt (Barbara) Clampitt of Plainview, a brother Ray Sparks of Pilot Point; a sister, Mrs. Ollie James of Norman, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Schmitz Floyd Hamlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
