Clarice E. Babcock, 87, Moline, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Trinity Rock Island. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Tuesday, November 23 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline, where she was a member. Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday at the Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 First Street A, Moline, with the rosary recited by Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society at 4pm. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials can be made to Seton Junior High School.
Clarice was born March 27, 1923, in Fairbault, Minnesota, the daughter of Willis and Alice Leahy Van Wychen. She married Birdge J. Babcock October 26, 1944, in Fairbault. He preceded her in death April 19, 2001.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Marie Babcock, Summerfield, Florida; and Sherrie Babcock, Moline; sons & daughter-in-law, William and Sharon Babcock, Moline; and John Babcock, Coal Valley; eight grandchildren; 12 great-granddchildren; and brothers, Robert Van Wychen, Rock Island; and Francis Van Wychen, San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by a son, Peter; two sisters and two brothers.
