William J. Babcock, 77, of Bettendorf, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at Genesis East, Davenport surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born September 14, 1945 in Faribault, MN, the son of Birdge and Clarice (VanWychen) Babcock. He married Sharon L. Schmidt on January 9, 1970 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline.

Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the 92nd Aviation Company during the Vietnam War. After all these years, Bill enjoyed keeping in touch with his Vietnam buddies throughout the U.S. He was blessed to attend an Honor Flight with them.

Bill worked as a sales representative for Nashua and later at Shurtape.

Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline. He enjoyed woodworking and was a handyman. But most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline with military honors conducted by the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 299.
