Mrs. Alice Van Wychen, 91, of 532 First St. N.W., died Friday, Jan. 31, 1992, in Faribault Manor Health Care Center. Services will be held at 9;30 a.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. George J. Freeman officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today in Parker Kohl Funeral Home and on Tuesday morning one hour prior to the services. The parish prayers will be recited at 5 p.m. today in the funeral home. Alice Rosella Leahy, the daughter of Stephen J. and Catherine McDonald Leahy, was born on Oct. 1, 1900, in rural Rice County. She married Willis J. Van Wychen on April 6, 1920, in Immaculate Conception Church. He preceded her in death in 1969. Mrs. Van Wychen taught special education in Caledonia for 15 years before retiring in 1970. Before that she taught in the rural Rice County Schools. Mrs. Van Wychen graduated in 1956 from Mankato State College. She is survived by three sons, Donald J. of Taylor Ridge, Ill., Robert O. of Rock Island, Ill., and Francis J. of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Clair (Catherine) Peterson of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Birdge (Clarice) Babcock of Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Grass of Faribault; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William A. Van Wychen on Dec. 27, 1991; one brother, Stephen Leahy in 1969; and four grandchildren.
