Mrs. Mattie Zelle Barker Cain Drummond, 90, retired seamstress, died November 2, 2010 at North Ms. Medical Center Eupora with her family at her side.
Funeral services were 2:00 PM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Eupora First Baptist Church, Rev. Travis Gray officiating, with burial in the Eupora City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Chism, Jeremy Dixon, Tony and Cliff Cain, Roy Hitt, Tommy Crutchfield, Clint Hester, Dustin Cabaniss.
Honorary pallbearer, Dr. Charles Ozborn.
She is survived by a daughter, Glynda (Ted) Wilson, Eupora; 2 sons, Jimmy Stewart (Sylvia) Cain, Eupora, Tom (Frankie) Cain, Smyrna, TN; two sisters, Bettye Carol Culpepper, Baton Rouge, LA, Earline Welch, Gallman, MS; 2 brothers, L.V. (Dot) Barker, Clinton, MS, L.D. (Anna) Barker, Baton Rouge, LA; fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton E. and Lilly Marie Barker; her husband, Walter "Pete" Drummond; sisters, Elizabeth Barker, Eula Lee Strong, Hazel Goza and Yvonne LaBeauve; brothers, Tom, Charles and Thelbert Barker, and a grandchild Jimmy Stewart Cain Jr.
Mama Mattie, as most of her called her, had a love for her God, her family, her flowers, and Eastern Star. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 55 years serving as Worthy Matron at Emmett N. Thomas, District Deputy Grand Matron, Grand Representative of Delaware and Kansas and Grand Chapter Mom 1995-1996. She was a member of the Eupora First Baptist Church, Fidelis Matrons Sunday School Class and a member of the Triple W. Club of Walthall, MS.
Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of all arrangements.
