LV Barker passed away June 16, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Barker was born on August 27, 1923 in Copiah County, MS to Cliff and Lillie Barker. He left home and went to Oregon in 1939 with twin brother L D "Bill" to work in the CCC Camps. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served in the South Pacific in WWII for three years. Upon his return, he met and married Dorothy Worden in 1946. They lived in west Jackson until 1979, they moved to Clinton, MS. He worked for the ICG RR for 34 years as a switchman retiring in 1984. His passions in life were being with his family, traveling, hunting, fishing, playing dominos and offering words of wisdom " some people just live and some people live and learn." His generosity extended to all his family and friends. He loved family reunions and visiting relatives. He lived a long, adventurous life and will be missed by all who crossed his path.

He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Clinton and often visited Dentville Christian Church in Dentville, MS. He belonged to the VFW, American Legion, Retired Railroad Mens Coffee Club, Mt Salus Masonic Lodge and the CCC Legacy.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothy Barker; son, Paul Barker (Juanita); daughter, Susan "Susie" Dickson (Bill); grandchildren, Micheal Barker(Tammy), Jeff Barker, Sharon Barker and Fiance Kevin Barnes, Amanda Upton( Clayton), Mike Dickson(Nanette), Kim Darrow(Wayne), Great Grandchildren; Jennie and Jake Nelson, Parker Burns, Cassidy and Cheyenne Barker, Sidney and Pride Warrington, Allison Dickson, Tyler, Michael and Kimberly Beard, and Abby Darrow, Sister; Betty Culpepper of Baton Rouge, LA, Sister-in-laws; Anna Barker of Baton Rouge, LA and Imogene Barker of McComb, MS, Brother-in-law; Ed Goza, Denham Springs, LA and Numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

He was Preceded in death by is father and mother Cliff and Lillie Barker, brothers; Identical Twin LD "Bill", Riley, Elton, Tom, Charles and Ted Barker, sisters; Lousie Barker, Eula Lee Strong, Matt Drummond, Hazel Goza, Earline Welch and Yvonne Lebouf. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 12:00pm with visitation starting at 11:00am. Burial will be at 2:00pm at Pine Bluff Community Cemetery in Hazelhurst, MS.
