Mary Alberta (called Alberta) Simon Grimmett was my aunt.
She was born August 14, 1905 at Carterville, MO and died on November 14, 1934 at Wheaton, MO. MO death certificate #38445. She was only 29 years old. Her death was sudden and "due to complications from surgery". According to info I was given, from a cousin, Alberta, while a patient, recovering from surgery, got up during the night to help another patient (in the ward) and "tore her stitches". She developed an infection and died.
She was the daughter of Edward Michael Simon & Dora Ellen (Ella) Piper Simon (both buried here at Rocky Comfort) and the grand-daughter of Pernecia A. Piper, who is also buried at this cemetery.
Alberta had the following siblings: Wallace & Price (twins), Charley Levi, Willie Lawrence (my father), Harry & Ruth, also half-sister, Flora Maxine.
Alberta married Otha Grimmett in 1920 @ Galena, MO. They had 3 children together: Gynith Lucille, Fenton Eugene & Floella May (called Flo).
Husband Otha later married Luella Upper. Both Otha & Luella are buried @ Gracelawn Cemetery in Flint, Michigan.
The photo (at left) shows Alberta's family. According to "family info", my grandmother, Ella Simon, had Alberta's photo "placed within this photo", as she had died before this actual photo was taken (at their family home in MO). Alberta is at the far right.
