My aunt, Ruth Roberteen Simon, was born November 29, 1908 @ Purdy, MO. She was the daughter of Edward Michael Simon & Dora Ellen Piper Simon.

Ruth had the following siblings: Wallace & Price (twins), Harry, Willie Lawrence (my father), Alberta, Charley and half-sister, Flora.

Ruth married Afton Keith Zinn on June 7, 1925 @ Rocky Comfort, MO. Afton was the son of William Miller Zinn & Nellie Bernice Maddox.

Five children were born to Ruth & Afton . . . sons: William Edward, Arlie Keith, Paul Lavern, Jerry Lee & daughter: Dora Maxine (named for her maternal grandmother and aunt). Dora was born January 13, 1930 @ Rocky Comfort but passed away at the age of two years (from typhoid fever) on July 19, 1932 and is buried @ Rocky Comfort, MO.

Ruth's "Simon ancestors" came from Germany, ended up in Virginia and eventually settled in the southwestern corner of Missouri after the Civil War.
