Dora Ellen (Ella) Piper Simon was my grandmother.
She married Edward Michael Simon at Carthage, MO in 1897. She and Edward had 7 children together: Wallace, Price, Charley, Willie (my father), Mary Alberta (also buried here @ Rocky Comfort), Harry & Ruth. Ella also had twin daughters from her first marriage.
Ella was the daughter of Lewis (Louis) Piper & Pernecia Ann Lang Piper. Pernecia is also buried here @ Rocky Comfort. I believe that Lewis (Louis) is buried at Aurora, Lawrence Co, MO. I'm still seeking exact location of his grave though. He died on March 27, 1886.
Ed was Ella's third husband. Husband #1 was J.A. Killian (or Killion). He was the birth father of her twin daughters: Flora & Myrtle. Husband #2 was Charles Good. He is buried in Lawrence Co, MO. I believe Mr Killian is buried in Jasper Co, MO.
Myrtle is "a family mystery". She is listed only once, on a 1900 census record, then she "vanishes".
Son Charley Levi Simon (1901-1979) and his wife, Eliza Florence Moore Simon (1905-1990) are both buried at Lodi, CA.
No further information on son Harry Simon.
Both Ella & Ed died in MI, but, per their request, their bodies were returned to MO for burial.
