Floella May Grimmett Andes was my first cousin.
Flo, as she was called (she was named for our Aunt Flora and our grandmother, Dora Ellen "Ella" Piper Simon), was born on May 22, 1917 at Galena, MO (obit states Logan, MO but my records state Galena, MO) and died March 17, 2005 while a patient at the Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center at Crane, MO. Her home was at Aurora, MO.
She was the daughter of Mary Alberta Simon and Otha Grimmett and the sister to Gynith and Fenton. Her mother was my father's older sister.
Flo's mother died when she was only 7 years old. She was raised by our Aunt Flora (in Missouri). Sister Gynith was raised by another aunt & uncle and eventually moved to Michigan. Brother Fenton stayed with their father, who later remarried and also moved on to Michigan.
On September 12, 1954, Flo married Hollis Leroy (Lee) Andes. To this union, one son, Todd Alan.

Floella Andes, 77, of Aurora, died March 17, 2005 in Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center at Crane. She was born on May 22, 1927 in Logan to Otha and Mary Simon Grimmett. Survivors include her husband, Hollis, one son, Todd Andes of Aurora and one sister Gynith Simmonds of Michigan. Services were held March 19 at Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
