Mrs. Ivy Burch Cheeks, 83, widow of Mr. Ludie Clarence Cheeks, of 1722 Watkins Street, Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest Friday, October 15, 1993, at University Hospital. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at West View Cemetery, with Dr. William Owens and the Rev. Sherrill Dunn officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Puryear, Mike Attaway, Archie Lee and Tony Bellamy. Mrs. Cheeks, a lifelong resident of Augusta, had retired as a weaver for the Graniteville Company. She was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mildred C. Riley, Augusta; a brother, Earl Burch, Martinez; two sisters, Dorothy B. Thompson, Augusta, and Irma B. Ballentine, Columbia; and two grandchildren, Shirley R. Cooper and Sharon L. Riley, both of Augusta, Georgia. Platt's Funeral Home.
