Mr. Malvin Brady Burch, 66, superintendent of the Augusta Lumber company, entered into rest suddenly at his residence,1805 Jenkins street, Augusta, Georgia, Wednesday, December 22, 1948. Funeral services will be held at Crawford Avenue Baptist church Friday morning at 11 o'clock. The Rev. C.A. Dabney will officiate. Interment will be West View cemetery. Pallbearers will be, W.T. Stewart, W.W. Smallwood, C.T. Towner, F.H. Hooper, F.T. Utley and Willis Lazenby; honorary: F.L. Lancaster, G.W. Ewing, W.H. Fiveash, W.F. Bentley Sr., Brad Bennett and Tom Kelly. Mr. Burch, a native of Richmond county, was one of the best known lumbermen in this section of the state. He had been with the Augusta Lumber company for many years and was considered one of the company's most valued employees. He was well known and had numerous friends throughout Georgia. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lena Belle Reid Burch; four daughters, Mrs. James Lord, Mrs. Ludie Cheeks, Mrs. Eugene Ballentine and Mrs. Eugene Thompson, all of Augusta; two sons, A.O. Burch and Earl A. Burch Sr.; five brothers, T.B. Burch, Andrew Burch, Frank P. Burch, Louie T. Burch and Thomas Burch; sister, Miss Pauline Burch of Gracewood, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
