On Monday night Judge Stephens and a portion of his family met with a serious accident as they were going home after the rally. When about two miles south of town their team became frightened. The driver, Albert Stephens was dragged from the wagon by a fence stake, taking the lines with him. The team continued to run for about a quarter of a mile when Judge Stephens was thrown violently from the wagon. He was picked up in an insensible condition and taken to the residence of Mr. Early Corbin. Two boys and a little girl escaped unhurt. We are glad to hear that Mr. Stephens was better yesterday with good indications for a rapid recovery.
