Obituary (Iron County (Ironton, MO) Register, Dec. 27, 1928)- Dr. M. L. Stephens, osteopath, died quite suddenly at his home in Arcadia, Thursday morning, December 20, 1928, at 11:30 o'clock. Dr. Stephens seemed to be in his usual health that morning, ate breakfast and then walked to the post office. About 10 o'clock he was stricken by something diagnosed as apoplexy and in a short time passed away. The deceased was 70 years, 9 months, and 27 days of age; he had been a resident of Iron County for many years, first locating on a farm south of Arcadia, and about two years since buying a residence in Arcadia. He was an honest man and good citizen and held in high regard by all who knew him. Dr. Stephens is survived by a widow, son, C. E. Stephens, and two daughters, Mrs. J. O. Cottle and Mrs. Wm. McClelland. The funeral was held in the Baptist church Saturday afternoon and interment was made in the K. P. Cemetery.
