ROBERT T. MUNDELL

Robert Temolian Mundell, son of James and Eliza Mundell, was born on March 24, 1864, in Lucas county, Iowa, and departed this life at his home in Lucas on October 16, 1930, at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 22 days.

He grew to manhood in the neighborhood of Goshen and was united in marriage to Louisa Stumbaugh on October 21, 1884. To this union eleven children were born: Mrs. Minnie Maddy, of Lucas; Perry, Enos and Ernest, of Derby; Mrs. Laura Kent, of Lucas; Mrs. Anna Mosier, of Reed Point, Mont.; George and Mrs. Pearl Mowery, of Lucas; Mrs. Florence Logsdon, of Woodburn; and Mrs. Velma Halferty, of Derby. An infant daughter preceded the father in death.

He leaves to mourn their loss, besides the wife and the ten living children, thirty grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Mary Leach, of Lucas, Mrs. Ida Stumbaugh, of Absarokee, Montana; Mrs. Olive Spencer, of Chariton; William and Charles Mundell, of Lucas; and a number of nieces and nephews. His father and mother, four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

He was stricken with paralysis on June 4, 1927, but recovered sufficiently as to be able to get around with the aid of his cane until September 3, 1929, when he suffered another stroke, which left him helpless.

He gave his heart to God August 26, 1930. He had been a patient sufferer until death claimed him. He was tenderly cared for by his wife, children and friends.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ramsey at the Methodist church in Lucas on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, and interment was made in the Goshen cemetery.
