She was born May 7,1929, in Mount Calvary, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Schoenborn Schaefer. Virginia attended Holy Cross Catholic School in Mount Calvary.
On September 22, 1948, she married Eugene Lefeber at Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary.
Virginia worked at Tecumseh Engine Products, the Villa Loretta Nursing Home, the Diner, and as an office assistant.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joe and the Christian Women's Society.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene; their seven children, Eugene(June)Lefeber of Little Suamico, John(Sandy)Lefeber,of New Holstein, Steven Lefeber of St.Cloud, Gerry(Linda)Lefeber,of St. Cloud, Ann(Arleigh)Murray of Eden, Joan(Earl)Merten of St. Cloud, and Ken(Melissa)Lefeber of St. Cloud; fourteen grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren: three brothers, Clarence Schaefer of Fond du Lac; Cyril(Mary)Schaefer of Mt. Calvary and James(Mary)Schaefer of Mt.Calvary and two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Lefeber of St. Cloud and Stella Schaefer of Malone.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a granson, Daniel, five sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. The Reverend Oliver Bambenek will officiate. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, January 12, at Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorpe Street, St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorpe Street, St. Cloud, Monday, January 11, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, January 12, 2009, from 9 to 10 a.m., when brief family rites will be said at the funeral home.
