Sherman E. Vail Dies; Rites At Hurricane Creek
Sherman Edward Vail, 77, of Dodson died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 1969 in a Winnfield Hospital.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Myrtie Vail of Dodson; two sons, Ordner Vail of Shreveport and Houston Vail of Dickerson, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Mae Bryant and Mrs. Rita Guilliams of Calvin, Mrs. Thelma Jarnigan and Mrs. Lorna
Bright of Winnfield; two brothers, Morgan Vail of Nashville, Tenn., and Leon Vail of Atlanta; one sister, Mrs. Flarce Sanders of Dodson; 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Harrison Cockerham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
