His parents moved to Colville, WA and it was there that he was married to Golda Ellen Smith on Dec. 24, 1912. To this union were born four children: Velma Ellen, Ethel Charlene, Charles Wm., Jr. and Robert Richard. This family moved to Custer County, OK and lived in the Stafford and Arapaho communities. Later he moved to Altus, OK, where he owned and operated a restaurant.
Charlie was married to Myrtle McElroy and she survives him. Other surviving relatives are: one daughter, Velma Sheppard and her husband, Glen, of Arapaho; two sons, Charles, Jr., and his wife, Fern, of Moriarty, NM, and Robert and his wife, Clara, of Rogers, AR; one brother-in-law, Carl Williams, of Moriarty, NM; several grandchildren and his step-mother, Julia (Vowell) Dunn, of Clinton. Preceding him in death were his parents, his step-mother, Lizzie, and one daughter, Ethel Charlene Williams.
