Mary Ida Dinkel, 88, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002m at Hays Medical Center. She was born Jan. 28, 1913 in Antonino to John M. and Mary Theresa (Herl) Pfannenstiel.

She married Clement Dinkel on May 23, 1939 in Victoria. He died May 16, 1995.

She was a farmer and Homemaker and had worked at Hadley Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic, Hays.

Survivors include two brothers, Henry Pfannenstiel of Hays, Danny Pfannenstiel of Munjor; five sisters, Minnie Berens of Hays, Louise Stecklein of Munjor, Armella Ross of Hays, Rosie Dome of Basehor, Theresa Schippers of Victoria.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ted, Jake, Bob, and Eddie Phannenstiel, and three sisters, Lucy Schmidtberger, Virginia Dreiling and Eleanore Schumacher.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church with Father Bill Surmeier officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th an Pine. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Masses.
