Hays -- Armella Ross, 76, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at the Hays Medical Center. She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Munjor to John and Mary Theresa (Herl) Pfannenstiel.

She married Richard "Dick" Ross on May 8, 1956. He died April 23, 1998.

She had been an X-ray technician and office receptionist. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Perpetual Adorers.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Ross, Denver; two brothers, Henry J. Pfannenstiel, Hays, and Danny J. Pfannenstiel, Munjor; and four sisters, Minnie Berens, Hays, Louise Stecklein, Munjor, Rosie Dome, Basehor, and Theresa Schippers, Victoria.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ted, Jake, Bob and Eddie Pfannenstiel, and four sisters, Lucy Schmidtberger, Ida Dinkel, Virginia Dreiling and Eleanore Schumacher.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church; burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Munjor. A Perpetual Adorers rosary will be at 5 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested for Masses or organization of the donor's choice.
