John R. "Bob" Pfannenstiel, 68, Thursday, Dec. 24, 1987 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Hays. Born Jan. 10, 1919 at Antonino, he married Agnes Leiker Sept. 9, 1946 at Munjor.

A farmer and retired construction worker, he was a lifetime resident of Ellis County. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the American Legion, both of Hays.

Survivors: wife, Agnes E., of the home; sons, Steve of Munjor, Father John of Washington, Greg, Joe, both of Hays; daughters, Joanne Wasinger, Kayleen Steinert, both of Hays; brothers, Ted, Daniel, both of Munjor, Henry of Hays; sisters, Lucy Schmidtberger, Theresa Schippers, both of Victoria, Ida Dinkel, Minnie Berens, Eleanor Schumacher, Armella Ross, Virginia Dreiling, all of Hays, Louise Stecklein of Munjor, Rosie Dome of Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren.

Rosary will be 8 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays, Father John Pfannenstiel and Father Dan Scheetz. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Munjor. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel.
