In 1945, the newspaper in Emporia, Kansas ran an artical on Loren's father stating he was the first person born in the state of Kansas. His fathers name was Printice Doile.

Loren's Grandfather moved from Scotland to Canada about 1837 and by 1857, James H. had changed his name to Doile and had married in Lake Co., Illinois.

He moved to Kansas and signed up for the Civil War in Kansas 11th Mounted Calvery.

Loren was the third husband of Ruth Posey. She already had one son , Robert James Kelly but he did not live with Ruth.

My sister and I called him Uncle Wiggley as he was not shy about playing with us and rolling around on the floor. We were greatly impressed that he could walk on his hands.

They were both warm and loving people and I hope my children appreciate all the stories about him.
