Funeral services were held Thursday, April 17, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church near Orma with the Rev. W.G. Schoolcraft officiating. Burial was in the Cottrell Cemetery on Frozen Run.
Mr. Sampson was a member of Frozen Run Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah; seven sons, William of Orma, Andy J. of Reedy, Harvey and Clyde, both of Nicut, Curt of Parkersburg, David of Barberton, Ohio, and Homer of Shock; and six daughters, Mrs. Josie Murphy of Chloe, Mrs. Lydia Tanner of Nebo, Mrs. Janie Dickey and Mrs. Hallie Siers both of Nicut, Mrs. Ocie King of Shock, and Mrs. Lougene Knopp of Parkersburg.
