Andrew J. Sampson

Services were held Sunday afternoon in the Reedy Methodist Church for Andrew J. Sampson, 66, of Reedy, who died last Thursday in Gordon Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Rev. Leon Strickland officiated and burial was in Board Cemetery at Reedy. Vandale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was a farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Lucy; five sons, Warden of Flatwoods, Ky., Walter of Spencer, Weldon, Russell, and Creed, all of Reedy; five daughters, Mrs Iva Cottrell and Mrs Opal Marks of Reedy, Mrs Josephine Miller of Mount Zion, Miss Mattie and Miss Mary Sampson of Orma; one brother Bill Sampson of Orma; three sisters, Mrs Josie ( Josephine) Murphy of Chloe, Mrs Janie ( Nora Jane ) Dickey of Nicut and Mrs Lyda Tanner of Nebo; several half brothers and half sisters and 41 grandchildren.

Note: Andrew was preceded in death by one brother James Howard Sampson and (1 )1/2 sister Bessie Sampson and (1) 1/2 brother Leslie/Lesslie Sampson not mentioned in the original obit.
