Henry Clifford "Cliff" Blair was born 10 Mar 1892 in Talbotton, Talbot Co., GA to William Samuel and Willie Anna (Gilmore) Blair. He relocated to Van Zandt Co., TX with his parents in 1900. He moved with his father and other siblings to Hale Co., TX. While working on a ranch on the upper Panhandle of Texas he met Elda Lee Nelson. They were married 13 Jan 1926 in Abernathy, Hale Co., TX. Their two sons, Willie Joe and Jack Lewis, were born at home in Abernathy, Hale Co., TX. Clff was a fry cook for the Hilton Hotel in Plainview and later opened Cliff's Cafe in Abernathy. He died of cancer16 May 1955 and was buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Abernathy, Hale Co., TX.
