Alice Hindle was born in Bolton, England, Jan. 1st, 1826 and died at her home east of Brimfield Jan. 25, 1898, aged 72 years and 25 days. She was married to Ephraim Heaton in 1846 at Bolton, England. Her husband came to Brimfield Township in 1856, she came one year later, where she has lived ever since. She was the mother of thirteen children, six of whom are still living, her husband and seven children having preceded her to the better land. Mrs. Heaton was converted and joined the Brimfield Baptist Church, March 20, 1872, of which she has been a respected member ever since. Although being unable to attend church services for several years, her prayers and influence were ever with the people of God. She is dead but her works do follow her. Two sons, four daughters, sixteen grandchildren and a host of friends are left to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at the Baptist church conducted by her pastor, Rev. H.B. Cox, assisted by Rev. W.H. Jordan, after which she was laid to rest in the Brimfield Cemetery.
