Mrs. Kelly was born in Lancashire, England, July 20, 1854, the daughter of Ephraim and Alice Hindle Heaton. She came to this country when three years old and had lived in Peoria County for 86 years.
She married John W. Kelly in Galesburg on May 22, 1888. He preceded her in death many years ago.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Alice Harris of Peoria, one brother, John Heaton of Irwin, Calif.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Wilton Mortuary in Peoria, the Reverend E.T. Munns officiating and burial was in the Brimfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Kelly was well known here at her former residence and made an annual visit to Brimfield for the Old Settler’s Picnics, which she enjoyed so much. For several years, she has had the distinction of being the oldest woman on the grounds.
