The funeral service will be at 1:30pm, Saturday in the Larkin-Brown Funeral Home with burial in the Mount Muncie Cemetery.
Mr. Overfield was born October 23, 1920 at Hiawatha the son of Scott and Florence Hill Overfield. He had lived in the Leavenworth area most of his life. After schooling here, he toured with the Dodson World Fair Shows as a high wire performer. He had been service manager for Perry Black Motor Company and owned and operated Scottie's Automotive Service Center before starting the Midstates Firetruck Company, Lansing. He operated Midstates until poor health forced his retirement.
Warren was a World War II Army veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Sons of the American Revolution. He was married to Eunice Warner March 8, 1946 at Leavenworth. She survives at the home.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Nancy Meyer, Leavenworth, Mrs. Linda Moyer, Hiawatha, Mrs. Leslie Smith, El Paso, Texas and Denise Zink, 704 Ninth Ave; five brothers, Loyd Overfield, Charles Overfield and Nelson Overfield, all of Leavenworth, Max Overfield, Plano, Texas and Ted Overfield, San Diego, California; Six sisters, Mrs. Hilma Kagan, Mrs. Edith Schmitz, Mrs. Laura Thoos, Mrs. Maxine Dunbar, Mrs. Rose Stewart all of Leavenworth and Mrs. Ann Canaday, Mableton, Georgia; six grandsons and two grandaughters.
He was preceeded in death by two sisters Miss Lucille Overfield and Mrs. Helen Burke.
