John P. Burkholder, sixyty-six, died at his home on the Lincoln Highway East, East Lampeter township, at 5 o'clcok Thursday moring, of heart trouble after an illness of a year.
He was the son of Mrs. Emaline Powl Burkholder and the late Joseph Burkholder, and a member of the Mennonite church.
He is survived by his wife, who was Katherine E. Kreider before marriage, and these children: Rena K., of Upland, Calif.; Carrie, wife of Adam Myers, Paradise; Paul K., Bareville; Elizabeth, at home; Titus K., of Willow Street; and Kathryn, wife of Elam Lefever, West Lampeter. Also his mother, Mrs. Emaline P. Burkholder, of Farmersville, and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Benjamin K. Herr, of Witmer; Mrs. Edwin Nolt, Farmersville; Mrs. John Rupp, of Ephrata; Levi Burkholder, of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Ida Hoover, Mrs. Jacob Reiff, and Mrs. Isaac Zimmerman, all of New Holland; Mrs. Katie Lausch, of Farmersville; Frank P., of Ephrata, and Ezra P., of Lincoln [Ephrata].
Services will be held privately at the home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with public services at Mellinger's Mennonite church at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Millersville Mennonite cemetery.
