Ezra P. Burkholder, 83, of 510 S. Ninth St., Akron, died Saturday night at the Ephrata Community Hospital after an illness of four weeks. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth W. Stauffer Burkholder.
Born in Millersville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emeline R. Powl Burkholder. He had worked as a building contractor and carpenter for over 50 years. He was a member of the Springville Mennonite Church.
He is survived by three dautheters, Emeline S., wife of Geroge S. Felpel. 510 S. Ninth St., Akron; Mrs. Nora S. Weaver, Ephrata Route 3; Elizabeth S., wife of Lester M. Burkholder, Bernville R1; and a son, Frank S. Burkholder, Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 20 step-great-grandchildren.
Service was held Wednesday, March 10, 1973, at the Stradling Funeral HOme, Akron, with further services at the Springville Mennonite Church and burial in the adjoining church cemetery.
