Mardie Leona Walton, born on July 12, 1909 graduated from Shawnee High after the family had moved from Wapanucka, Oklahoma. After graduation, she married Bob Le Master on December 31, 1926. Bob worked in the oil fields around Shawnee. Mardie attended Oklahoma Baptist University and worked for the telephone company for a total of 29 years.

She and Bob had two children, Bobby Ann and Ella Louise Le Master. In 1954, Bobby Ann and her husband, Oliver Gaskins, moved from Troy to Charlotte, North Carolina to Spartanburg, South Carolina after many years in education.
Both continued to teach school with Bobby retiring in 1980 and Oliver in 1992. They were joined by Mardie Le Master in her move from San Antonio.

Mardie spent the remainder of years with Bobby Ann and Oliver until her death on March 19, 1996. She was buried in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
