Anna Esther Walton, the fifth of ten children and oldest daughter of James Emory and Ella Addison (Wilcox) Walton, was born on July 20, 1906 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. She was named for her Aunt Hester but dropped the H from her middle name. Being the oldest daughter, she became known as "Sister" to all family members who expected her to help to take care of them. Anna attended the Wapanucka Schools through eighth grade and transferred to Shawnee, Oklahoma after the family moved there so many of the children could attend OBU (Oklahoma Baptist University). After graduation from OBU, she began her teaching career in Cromwell, Oklahoma. She then moved back to Shawnee and taught there for ten more years. In 1930, she received her Bachelor Degree magna cum laude from OBU. She then taught in the Jourdanton, Texas schools from 1934 to 1937. On July 7, 1937, she married Everette Stanley Losey and moved to Seminole, Oklahoma. After Everette's death in 1950, she taught in Alice, Texas before joining the Harlandale School Distirct in San Antonio. On April 20, 1962, she married Gentry Taylor at about the same time she was completing her Master degree education from Southwest Texas in San Marcos. In 1968, she was named as one of seven First Grade Teachers with outstanding performance in the San Antonio area. She died 2004 and is buried in the Jourdanton City Cemetery.
