As a young man, Frank moved from Badger, Minnesota with his family to the Verndale District north of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. His homestead entry date for SW 24-41-22-W 2nd was 21 July 1910. He built a house 14 x 16 by 15 Oct 1911 and moved into the house on the property 1 Nov. 1911. Patent received for property 22 Nov 1916. At that time he had a house, a barn 18 x 22, 2 cattle, 2 horses, and a granary.

Family stories tell us that Frank had been a frail child, often ill. His photo shows a very nice looking slim young man. He died Dec 1918, of the 'Spanish Flu', that swept Canada when the soldiers returned home after the First World War. He was not married.
