William D. Rogers Fatally Injured; Rites Set Today

William Dewey Rogers, age 49, was killed Friday morning at 9:30 in Nashville, Tennessee, when he was run over by some heavy construction equiptment at the site of a heavy power transmission line being erected by TVA. By whom he was employed as a heavy equiptment operator.
Mr. Rogers a native of Florence, was a resident on Bolivar, Tennessee, for the last eighteen months. He has been following TVA Construction work having been an employee of that federal agency for years.
He was a member of the Operators Union in Florence, Alabama.
Surviving are his wife Mrs. Myrtie S. Rogers of Bolivar; four daughters, Mrs. Christine Glover and Mrs. Loraine Cunningham, both of Willow Run, Michigan. Mrs. Ludine Gay of Hardin, Kentucky and Miss Bobbie Jo Rogers of Bolivar.
Sisters, Mrs. Ethel Young, of Mishawaka, Indiana; Mrs. Bessie Young of Florence, Alabama; Mrs. Laura Austin of Denver, Colorado; three brothers, E. P. Rogers and Tom Rogers of Florence, Alabama and Moody Rogers of Columbia, Tennessee. Halfsister, Mrs. Gertie Moomaw, Mrs. Daisy Peters, Mrs. Toye Murphy, Mrs. Vernett Arnold, Mrs. Mary Ester Murphy, all of Florence, Alabama; Mrs. Dorothy White and Mrs. Annie White, of Waterloo, Alabama; Miss Ruby Rogers of Willow Run, Michigan; half brothers; Frank Rogers U.S. Army, Drewey Rogers, Henry Rogers, and Burr Rogers of Florence, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be conducted this afternoon at Chisholm Funeral Home a 3 P. M. by Rev. W. R. Woodel, of First Baptist Church of Bolivar. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Park, the new city cemetery in Florence, Alabama.
