Jimmie married Margaret Opal Powers on March 9, 1941. Together they one son:
Robert Douglas Bass (1942-1988).
Robert Douglas was raised by Jimmie's sister and her husband Nettie (Bass) Lee and Leander Lee.
Jimmie second married Mildred Louise Hiter on May 26, 1945 in Hernando, Mississippi.
Together they had one son:
James Alden "Butch" Bass (1946-2013).
Jimmie third married Geneva Lloyd. Together they had three children:
1--Bonnie (1946-????)
2--Walter (1947-1947)
3--Carl Wayne (1948-2007)
Walter died about 3 months old.
Jimmie remarried his second wife Mildred Hiter in August 1955.

Jimmie Bass, 59, of 341 Parkwood Dr., Orange Park died Monday in the Naval Regional Medical Center.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post 1988 of Green Cove Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred L. Bass, Orange Park: three sons, James A. Bass, Hartford, Ky., Robert D. Bass, Lumberton, N.C. and Carl W. Bass, Memphis, tenn.: one daughter: Mrs. Anna Maxine Woolbright, Wynnne, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Maudie Prevatte, fairmont, N.C. and Mrs.Geneva Christenburg, Dillon, S.C.; one brother, Worth Bass, Lumberton, N.C.; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rivermead Funeral Home located at 950 Park Ave. in Orange Park.
Interment will be in the Holly Hill Memorial Park.
